Army recruitment project spending criticised

A National Audit Office report has found that the Army has not recruited the number of soldiers that it needs because of 'significant' problems.

They concerned the British Army Recruiting Partnership Project.

It says that the British Army and contractor Capita Business Services Ltd underestimated the complexity of the project, which has been 'beset' with problems such as the delayed introduction of an online recruitment system.

Despite changes introduced by the Army and Capita over the last year the requirement for new soldiers is still not being met, the NAO says.
