Bolton Wanderers set to go into Administration

The club have been in the High Court facing a winding-up order.

Bolton Wanderers have been in the High Court facing a winding-up order over an unpaid tax bill.

There have been recent discussions about a takeover by businessman Laurence Bassini.  These talks appear to have stalled over the last few days.

Bolton are due to start the 2019-20 Football League season in League One, but sanctions may now be imposed.

A Football League founder member in 1888, Bolton won the FA Cup three times in the 1920s and in 1958 but have struggled in recent years after relegation from the Premier League in 2012.

They moved to their current home, the University of Bolton Stadium, in 1997, moving from Burnden Park.
