MAN DIES AFTER POLICE PURSUIT

A MAN HAS DIED FOLLOWING A POLICE PURSUIT IN BRADFORD WHICH LED TO A MOTORWAY IN THE CITY BEING CLOSED TO TRAFFIC.

 

West Yorkshire police released the following statement.

 

"At around 2.45am on Monday morning (December 18) a silver Audi A4 was sighted on Stoney Ridge Road in the Heaton area of Bradford and failed to stop for officers.

 

"A pursuit commenced and the Audi collided with a barrier on the M606, close to the junction of the M62 westbound, a short time later.

 

"The driver of the Audi, a man in his thirties was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family have been informed.

 

"A road closure remains in place as investigations continue.

 

"Due to the circumstances an immediate referral has been made to the Independent Police Complaints Commission."
