FOURTH CHILD DIES AFTER MANCHESTER HOUSE FIRE

A FOURTH CHILD HAS DIED FOLLOWING A HOUSE FIRE IN SALFORD IN GREATER MANCHESTER.

Greater Manchester police released the following statement.

 

"A little girl who was fighting for her life after a house fire in Walkden has sadly died in hospital.

 

"Shortly before 5am on Monday 11 December 2017, emergency services were called to Jackson Street in Walkden to reports of a house fire.

 

"The fire service sought to put the fire under control and rescue the seven people inside.

 

"The girl is believed to be 3-year-old Lia Pearson.

 

"Her brother and sisters Demi Pearson, 15, Brandon Pearson, 8 and Lacie Pearson, 7 also sadly died in the fire.

 

"The children’s mother is currently fighting for her life in hospital.

 

"Two 16-year-old boys escaped from the house uninjured.

 

"Formal identification of the children has yet to take place."

 

Two men have been charged with murder.
