HUNDREDS OF SCHOOLS ARE SHUT AFTER SNOW FELL AT THE WEEKEND

 

Motorists are being warned to take care on the roads after the weekend's snowy conditions.

 

Experts are warning of a risk of black ice once snow begins to melt.

 

Highways England say they have been out in force overnight gritting the main motorways and A-roads ready for the start of the week.

 

Across England and Wales, hundreds of schools are shut.

 

While engineers have worked to restore power to more than 10,000 homes.
