Warning for drivers using second-hand tyres

The Local Government Association publishes a warning that motorists are putting their lives at risk by buying second-hand tyres that have safety defects.

According to the LGA, nearly half of used tyres sold in some areas are being done so illegally, with some found to be nearly 30 years old.

The Association reminds drivers to check that used tyres have the 'part-worn' tyre marking and are in good condition.
