That's according to data from the Halifax

House prices rose again in July, although only slightly, according to new data.

The Halifax House Price Index shows a rise of 0.4 per cent compared to June, with the average price across the UK, now at just over 261,000 pounds.

That figure is a little below May’s peak but still more than £18,500 higher than a year ago.

Wales, and the Yorkshire and the Humber region are showing the highest rises in the last 12 months, up by 13.8 and 11 per cent respectively.
