UK Ambassador to the US quits
Sir Kim Darroch has quit as the ambassador to Washington- after coming under fire from Donald Trump over leaked memos that criticised the administration in the States.
Theresa May told MPs this afternoon that the cabinet had offered her backing to Sir Kim.
But he missed a meeting with Ivanka Trump on Tuesday.
The US President called the ex-ambassador "wacky" and a "pompous fool" in a series of tweets.
Jeremy Hunt told an audience at a debate with Boris Johnson Sir Kim would remain in the job if he was handed the keys to Number 10.
But Mr. Johnson appeared to sidestep the question.
