Thirtysomethings still feeling the 2008 financial crisis, report says

A report released by the Resolution Foundation says those in their thirties are still feeling the impact of the 2008 economic crash, with wages 7% lower than what they were.

The report has also highlighted the disparity in age, saying those who were twenty at the time experienced an 11% fall in earnings peak to trough.

The think tank said that the crash had had a "scarring impact" on today's workers.

In a summary, bosses said that the UK still had a "lot of ground to make up" before returning to the pre-crisis levels.

But it added that a tight labour market is starting to deliver some " pay recovery."

The report says that despite uncertainty around Brexit, there could be a "new dawn" for pay in 2019.
