THREE CHARGED WITH MURDER OVER DEATH IN DERBY

Three men have been charged with murder following the death in hospital of a man from Derby, police say. Karl Taylor, 43, suffered serious injuries at a property in Uttoxeter New Road in Derby on December 8.

Derbyshire Police said in a statement their initial investigation into serious assault became a murder investigation when Mr Taylor died in hospital on Boxing Day.

Mateusz Maciejewski, 19, Callum McConnell, 20, and Gursimran Singh Mann, also 20, have now been charged with murder.

The three are due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A man and a woman, both 38, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been bailed pending further inquiries, police said.
