Social care services for the disabled and elderly are on the verge of collapse according to survey

ADASS have released the budget assessment

Local councils say we're to expect higher fares and more cuts to services for the disabled and elderly.

A budget survey by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services shows costs have risen by over £20billion this year - and it's still not enough to cover the deficit.

Nearly one in 3 home care services surveyed have had to shut down in the last 6 months through lack of funding.

The government says it will issue plans for a reformed system in the upcoming months.
