Smoking may limit the body's ability to fight skin cancer

Cancer Research UK publishes a report on the link between smoking cigarettes and the survival rates of melanoma skin cancer.

According to research, melanoma patients with a history of smoking cigarettes are 40% less likely to survive their skin cancer than people who had never smoked.

It suggests that smoking may blight the immune system's response against melanoma.
