Police search for missing youngster in lake in Stoke-on-Trent
Searches are continuing at Westport Lake in Stoke-on-Trent after a youngster went missing after getting into difficulty in the water.
A statement from Staffordshire Police reads:
We were called to the scene at around 4.50pm last night (25 June). Two children made it safely out of the lake, but one child is currently still missing.
Emergency services including West Midlands Ambulance Service, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Staffordshire Air Ambulance and the National Police Air Service are all in attendance. A police cordon is currently in place.
The identities of the children are known to us and we are in contact with the parents.
