Police launch a murder investigation after teenage death

A murder investigation has been launched after a 16-year-old was found with fatal injuries in South London.

Police were called to Greenleaf Close, Tulse Hill on Monday night to reports of a shooting.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service  and found a 16-year-old unconscious in the street.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin are aware.

At this early stage, it is believed the boy's injuries are stab rather than gunshot wounds.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. The Homicide and Major Crime Command have been informed and will lead the investigation.

No arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.
