Novak Djokovic has lost a judicial review to have the cancellation of his Australian visa quashed

It means the World Number 1 will not be taking part in the 2022 Australian Open

Novak Djokovic has lost his judicial review against the cancellation of his visa and he will be deported from Australia.

The verdict from Chief Justice James Allsop came following a unanimous decision from the three judges hearing the case at the Federal Court of Australia on Sunday.

The decision means nine-time champion Djokovic will be unable to defend his title at the Australian Open.

The three judges deliberated for a little over two hours before Chief Justice Allsop delivered the verdict just before 6pm in Melbourne.

There could yet be further legal processes but the decision means Djokovic faces being banned from Australia for three years.
