Met Office issues amber weather warning for snow

The Met Office has issued a National Severe Weather Warning for snow

It is in place for eastern and south east England from this afternoon.

On Tuesday, the warning extends from the south coast and London to the north east coast and the east of Scotland.

Travel is expected to be disrupted as train companies warn of possible delays.

Airports are also on alert, with passengers in affected areas being told to check with their airline before setting off for their flight.

Warnings - some amber - are in place for much of the week. Experts say it's because of a weather front heading over from Russia, with it bringing cold winds which will make it feel like -10 at times.

The RAC is also leading calls for motorists to check their vehicles are fit for journeys before setting off.
