Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder outside a London mosque

The incident took place outside London Central mosque in Regent's Park

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing inside a mosque.

Police were called to London Central Mosque in Regent's Park, central London, just after 3pm.

A man in his 70s, who according to reports was leading the call to prayer, was found with stab injuries was taken to hospital.

Scotland Yard said he was treated by paramedics before being taken hospital, where his condition was assessed as non life-threatening.
