Man arrested after allegedly threatening Andrew near home on Sandringham Estate

A man has been arrested for allegedly threatening Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor near his new home on the Sandringham Estate, Norfolk Police said.

The former Duke of York was out walking his dogs when he was confronted by a balaclava-clad man who was sitting in a car on Wednesday evening in Wolferton, close to his Marsh Farm property, The Telegraph reported.

The man was said to have spotted the disgraced former prince 50 yards away and then got out of his vehicle and made his way towards Andrew while shouting at him.

Norfolk Police said in a statement: “Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday May 6 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.

“Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning and remains in custody.”

The late Queen’s second son is provided with an annual stipend by his brother, the King.
