Learner drivers allowed on motorways

The new law means lessons are permitted on highways with licensed instructors

Learner drivers are now allowed lessons on the motor way.

Previously you weren't allowed to drive on them until after you'd passed your test.

However, lack of new-driver experience on the highways has lead a change with those learning with an instructer in a dual-action car permitted to practise on them.

They'll now be taught how to enter and exit a motorway and how to switch lanes.

It hoped it will help the 8% of new drivers who put off driving on them for the first 6 months because of lack of experience.
