International travellers arriving into Scotland will now be able to take a lateral flow test instead of a PCR test

Travellers can buy them from 5pm on Friday - rules change on Sunday morning

International travellers coming to Scotland will now be able to take a lateral flow test instead of a PCR test on the second day after their arrival, Nicola Sturgeon has said.

The change was pushed for by the aviation sector and will align with changes in England which took effect earlier this month.

Travellers who are double vaccinated and travelling from countries not on the red list will be eligible for the lateral flow test change.

The change will take effect from 5pm on Friday and is expected to cost between £20 and £30 per test – less than for PCR tests.
