Hillsborough Match Commander Charged

David Duckenfield will face 95 counts of manslaughter

The match commander at the Hillsborough disaster is to be trialled for the lives of 95 people who died.

 

A judge has ordered that David Dukenfield faces the charges of manslaughter by gross negligence for all but one of the football fans who was killed at the match in 1989.

Mr Dukenfield had previously been protected from being taken to court for the disaster but the stay has now been lifted
