Health Secretary launches a review into hospital food

Matt Hancock has announced a hospital food review.

It's after five people died earlier this summer from to a listeria outbreak linked to pre-packaged sandwiches and salads.

The food, supplied by the Good Food Chain, was purchased at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust before all products from the company were withdrawn from 43 NHS trusts on May 25.

The government will work with the NHS to improve food quality in hospitals and provide consistently safe, nutritious and tasty food.
