Explosion on London Underground

Police believe it's not terror related

An suspected explosion in the London underground station has injured five people.

Reports say people were trampled as they struggled to exit Southgate station yesterday evening around 7pm.

Two people were taken to hospital by the emergency services.

Police believe the blast wasn't terror related and instead was caused by a battery short circuit.

The station remains closed for investigation this morning.
