Calls for more to be done to prevent homelessness

A new act means homeless people can expect help from the council

The Homelessness Reduction Act comes into force today,

That means English councils must take 'all reasonable steps' to prevent and relieve homelessness.

That means that all homeless people will have a legal right to help from their local council.

It's as charities warn more must be done.

They say that it's becoming a bigger problem in the UK.
