A man arrested following a shoot out with police

Police in Oxford arrested the man after negotiations in the early hours

A 24 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shoot out with police in Oxford.

 

Thames Valley police arrested the man this morning after he fired at them from a house on Paradise street, near the city centre.

Armed police returned the fire before entering into negotiations with the man, who was taken into police custody just after 3am this morning.

A cordon remains in place along Paradise street although local residents have been told they are safe to return to their homes.
