Johnson gets the nod as Tory Party Leader

He comfortably beat his leadership rival Jeremy Hunt

Boris Johnson has won the Conservative Party leadership contest receiving almost two-thirds of votes from the party membership.

The turnout for the election was 87.4 per cent

Boris Johnson received 92,153 votes compared with Jeremy Hunt who gained 46,656.

A number of Conservative cabinet members have already announced that they will leave their roles.
