Doctors who make 'honest' mistakes will not face prosecution

Jeremy Hunt will announce the new government measures today

The new measures come following an outcry when a doctor was struck off after a 6 year old boy died of spesis in her care.

Dr Bawa-Garba was working on an understaffed ward with a broken computer system down when it happened.

Campaigners lobbied to reinstate Mrs Bawa-Garba, who had a previously unblemished record, stating the system was at fault.

 

Jermery Hunt also said the family of people who have die in hospital will get better access to information on their deaths.
