Sellafield firefighters take strike action

Firefighters at Sellafield nuclear facility are holding 12-hour strikes as part of an ongoing dispute over pay and conditions.

The firefighters' union, GMB, claims that its members have been performing jobs above and beyond what they are paid to do, such as paramedic work.

The union claims that a pay offer by management amounted to just £4.30 extra per week.

The union previously held strikes in October 2017 as part of the same dispute.
