Rural parts of Scotland and Wales suffering from slow broadband

New analysis from the consumer watchdog Which? finds that rural Scotland and Wales have Britain's slowest average broadband connection speeds.

The Orkney Islands (3Mbps), Allerdale (5.7Mbps), Shetland Islands (6.7Mbps) and Ceredigion (7.5Mbps) are identified as the worst affected local authority areas, though Tower Hamlets, Westminster and Tunbridge Wells are also found to be lagging well behind other areas of the country.

The fastest broadband connection speeds can be found in Broxbourne (32.5Mbps), Crawley (32.3Mbps), and Newark and Sherwood (30.0Mbps), Which? says.
