Hundreds more cash machines closing down per month
Some 488 cashpoints per month were closed in the UK between June and December last year.
That's despite access to cash being a necessity for 25 million people around the country, according to research by consumer champion Which?.
Over 100 'protected' cash machines were also closed in remote areas which receive subsidies intended to keep cashpoints open, and Which? is calling on the Government to establish a regulator to protect access to cash.
