Bank of England decides to keep interest rates at 0.5 per cent

The Bank of England policymakers have voted to keep interest rates on hold at 0.5% but have warned of imminent rises.

It's claimed rates would need to rise "earlier" and by a "greater extent".

It's being predicted that could be later this year in May.

The value of the pound has risen against the dollar following the announcement. 

 

The UK economy is also predicted to grow by 1.8 per cent during the rest of 2018.
