Parents' alcohol abuse effecting the lives of 700,000 UK teenagers

Parents' alcohol abuse is damaging the lives of an estimated 700,000 10-17 year-olds across the UK, according to a report by The Children's Society.

It also finds that for 59% of these children and teenagers, the same parent also suffers from depression or anxiety. It adds that 39% have lived with domestic violence and 29% have been homeless in the past five years.

Other findings suggest 1.6 million teenagers have a parent with depression or anxiety and 1.7 million teenagers live in homes struggling with problem debt.
