Drivers need eye tests 'every ten years'

The Association of Optometrists is calling for compulsory eye testing

Experts in eyecare are calling for a change in the law to make it compulsory for all road users to have an eye test every 10 years,

They say at least 35% of optometrists see people who still drive, despite their eyesight being below legal requirements.

They have launched the 'Don't Swere a sight test' campaign calling for as many drivers as possible to have a sight test every two years.

They say it will help reduce the risk of accidents on UK roads.
